Originally opened as an Art Nouveau café in 1924, today it is a boutique hotel with just nine rooms, overlooking the romantic landscape so famously praised by Stendhal. Every detail tells a story: from the rooms furnished with vintage charm to the panoramic terrace where time seems to stand still.

Stepping into the Oval Room of Il Borducan is like entering another world. Original 1924 wood paneling, floral frescoes on the ceiling, and the warm glow of 87 candles welcome you — everything is designed to envelop the senses and slow down time.
All it takes is sitting at one of the eight tables to feel suspended between old-world elegance and the breathtaking view beyond the windows: the lakes, the Campo dei Fiori, and the distant Apennines.

The original liqueur of the Sacred Mountain, the herbal bitter typical of Varese and its history. Created and patented in 1872 by the herbalist and Garibaldi supporter Davide Bregonzio, it remains today one of the most mysterious yet fascinating products of the area.
