It’s inside this oval room that you can truly feel that magical, 1920s atmosphere. The menu always features seasonal products and traditional local dishes.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that your life is chaos. It’s everyone’s life that is chaos. When all the stars align against you, you have disasters at work, a complicated emotional life, a few issues at home, and Hamlet-like doubts about your relationship with her, there’s not much to say – it’s clear that a break is needed.
You need to put a period and reset. The fact is, we shouldn’t reach that point, beyond the chaos. If we truly wanted to be wise, we should be able to stop just a little earlier, take a break, and reassess our priorities. That’s what I try to do every now and then, during the rare moments when there are no customers here at Borducan.
I go up to the terrace and stop. That’s my moment, all to myself. Finally alone, I gaze at the horizon and breathe. It’s from there that I watch the seasons unfold. The Monte San Francesco in front of me today is a brilliant green that only exists in spring, so lush that you can’t see anything but the green. Up there, as your gaze sweeps across, you lose yourself in the blue of Lake Varese, Lake Comabbio, and finally, the infinity of the sky.
On that terrace, over the last 100 years, countless lunches, dinners, love stories, passions, tragedies, and who knows what else have unfolded.
If it could speak, it would tell us how Anita welcomed guests at Borducan.
It would tell us how Davide spoke of his liquor and the other alchemical preparations he had in the cellar. It would remind us of the travel stories and the war tales of young Bruno Bregonzio, who went off to fight a war that wasn’t his, like all the useless wars that are fought.

Somehow, you can imagine coming here, sitting on the terrace or in the circular room, and finding the answers to those questions that have been haunting you.

→ Do you have a set menu or an à la carte menu for lunch?
For lunch, the menu is à la carte, with meat, fish, and vegetarian options. A set menu is available for reservations of 8 or more people.
→ Is it always possible to have lunch on the terrace?
The terrace is usually open from mid-April to mid-September. We don’t have a roof or awnings to ensure outdoor seating in bad weather.
→ Are children allowed for lunch?
Of course, lunch isn’t candlelit, and the atmosphere is family-friendly. We can, if necessary, offer children’s dishes other than those on the menu.
→ For birthdays or special occasions, can you make personalized cakes?
Of course, our kitchen is equipped to create custom desserts and cakes. However, please note that we cannot guarantee cross-contamination in the event of allergies or intolerances.
