At Caffè del Borducan, you can find delicious dishes from our kitchen every day to accompany your lunches and dinners at the Borducan, on the terrace or in our historic interior rooms.
The kitchen is open from 12:30 to 14:30.

The dinner offer at Ristorante Borducan features a menu inspired by the flavors and products of the local region. On our menu, you will find three tasting menus: Signature, a meat-based journey featuring some iconic dishes from our kitchen; Liberty, a fish-based journey highlighting the products of our territory; and Dolce Vita, a vegetarian path full of creativity and flavor.
The same menu is also available in an “à la carte” format with free choice.

The perfect place for an afternoon snack is Borducan, where it’s almost a must to sip a small glass of its historic Elixir made with orange.
In our menu, you will always find our daily selection of teas inspired by the aromas of the region, savory dishes to pair with our Signature Cocktails, homemade cakes by our Chef (gluten-free, lactose-free, egg-free), our special coffees and cappuccinos, and much more.

Our cellar is the beating heart of the restaurant, featuring a carefully curated selection of wines that span the finest national and international productions. Each bottle is chosen to complement and enhance our culinary offerings, creating a harmony of flavors that turns every meal into a unique experience.
The rooms of the Caffè del Borducan
Circular Hall
The Circular Room at Caffè del Borducan is an oval room with original period wood paneling and white rose frescoes on the ceiling dating back to the 1950s. It’s the most distinctive room in the establishment, and its three large windows offer spectacular views of the lakes.
Historical anecdote: This room once had no radiators, only small wood-burning stoves, and the current marble tables were replaced by wooden tables and benches. Before the renovations that took place after Bruno Bregonzio’s death in 1998, the floor had a different arrangement of cement tiles. Some details in the room, such as the entrance door and the arrangement of the windows, recall some of Sommaruga’s works already present at the Grand Hotel Campo dei Fiori at the time (Piccoli, then Sommaruga’s fieldmaster, was the architect of the Borducan).
For events: The room can accommodate up to 36 people seated. Using both rooms together can accommodate up to 70 people standing.
Fireplace Room
The Fireplace Room is the most intimate room at Caffè del Borducan, featuring a double view of the lakes and Campo dei Fiori and its Grand Hotel. A historic feature of this room is its marble fireplace, currently lit during winter evenings.
Historical anecdote: this room was originally Bruno Bregonzio’s private room, at the time connected to his private bathroom (now the bar/restaurant’s public bathroom) where there was: in the bathroom a claw-foot bathtub and in the bedroom the bed frame that has now been placed in room number 4 of the hotel.
For events: The Fireplace Room can accommodate up to 20 people seated. Using both rooms together can accommodate up to 50 people.
Panoramic terrace
The Caffè del Borducan terrace is unique and runs along the entire facade of the establishment, offering spectacular views of the lakes (Varese, Monate and Comabbio) from every corner.
Historical anecdote: observing it from Via Fincarà, the lower part of the terrace is decorated with a “starry sky,” which recalls some of the drawings found in Ludovico Pogliaghi’s house-museum at Sacro Monte. From this terrace, in addition to the lakes of Varese, Monate, and Comabbio, you can also see the Torre del Gran San Pietro, the highest mountain in the Apostles mountain range, a subgroup of the Gran Paradiso massif.
The terrace offers 9 tables that can accommodate up to 4 people.
